Why Have a Custom Tilt Tray Installed on Your Truck?

A tilt tray can make easy work of hauling another vehicle or anything else on the back of your truck, as you don't need to use ramps or lift the vehicle, ATV, tractor or other equipment onto the truck. The tilt tray provides an easier way to load and unload anything, and a custom-made tilt tray can be the solution you need when you can't find what you're looking for on the market. Note a few reasons to consider having a custom tilt tray installed on your truck if you're in the towing or car repair business or often haul something awkward and cumbersome.

1. Improved safety for towed item

Towing a vehicle means lifting one end and in turn increasing the risk of the other end scraping along the ground. Even if you leave plenty of clearance between the bumper and the ground when a car is lifted, one bump in the road and this can mean severe damage to the vehicle.

These risks can be increased if you tow larger vehicles, vehicles that are already low to the ground, or a vehicle with custom trim that doesn't provide much clearance. A standard tilt tray may not work with these types of vehicles as they too may need to lift them up to load them onto the tray, and this increases the risk of damage to one end. With a custom tilt tray, you can dictate the clearance it offers when lifting a vehicle to be loaded onto the tray.

2. Increase the number of items you can haul

With a custom tilt tray, you can increase the number of items you can haul as you can then easily fit odd and bulky items on the tray and ensure they get loaded properly. With a custom tray built to fit larger, cumbersome items, you can tow engines, machinery and other such heavy equipment; these may not fit on a standard tray and certainly cannot be towed behind a truck.

Using a custom tilt tray allows you to add features that will work for your business; you might add custom tie-downs that will allow you to add heavy chains to the tray when needed and then swap them out for light rubber cords, depending on what you're hauling. A custom tray might also come with a moving belt that makes loading and unloading very heavy items even easier. This will allow you to increase your tow business accordingly and not be limited to certain vehicles alone.
